With more than 1,500 employees, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria's largest research and technology organisation with strong links to European partners. The institute is an essential network hub in the Austrian and European research and innovation system.

The AIT focuses its work on two main areas of research: ‘Resilient and sustainable infrastructures’, particularly in the fields of energy, transport and health, and ‘Digital transformation of industry and society’.
